Honda Celebration of Light
Vancouver’s biggest event of the summer kicks off this weekend with the start of the Honda Celebration of Light festival. With 400,000 spectators flocking to English Bay every night, this 23rd annual celebration features spectacular light shows from the United Kingdom, Canada and Thailand, a daring Red Bull Air Show, and over a dozen incredible musical acts at the free SHOREfest concert series.
The Honda Celebration of Light is the worlds largest off shore fireworks competition and is sure to present a breathtaking show. The 25 minute long light shows will begin at 10:00pm each night of the competition, regardless of any weather. Hurry down to English Bay as crowds will begin to form quickly, alternatively you can purchase bleacher seats for English Bay Beach. Tickets range from $44.25 to $54.75 per fireworks night: click here to purchase tickets. Each night provides a unique custom firework show synchronized to music on the radio station Shore 104.3 FM, so be sure to bring your Smartphone or radio to tune in.
Red Bull pilot, Pete McLeod, will be taking to the sky for a thrilling air show sure to amaze. The Red Bull Air Show will fly above English Bay on the fireworks nights of Wednesday, July 31 and Saturday, August 3. Both shows will begin at 8:10 p.m.
SHOREfest will also be under way for the kick off of the Honda Celebration of Light. This free concert series features home grown talent aside seasoned artists such as Juno award winner Serena Ryder and Canadian indie-rock talent Mother Mother.
